Why is android better than apple ios
Android is the best operating system for mobile computing. The current version is Froyo. Gingerbread, which is android's next iteration will be coming out soon. The android is the operating system of choice of all major hardware designers and makers. Why? It's free! It's innovative and it's constantly being improved!
One can buy a phone made by HTC, Samsung, or Motorola. One is not tied to a control freak deciding every little aspect and detail on a phone R&D, software marketing and cellphone provider. No, with android you decide what hardware, interface and provider suits you better. There are new phones coming to the market place every other day, so the decision is yours, not his.
Also the android operating system is superior to the ios. Multitasking, document management, notifications are native and efficient; one can download apps from the Google market as well as from independent developers and sources. If you use Itunes, you can sync your media library wirelessly via bluetooth and/or wifi; and then there are all the web-based tools offer by Google. Gmail, docs, voice, talk, calendar, picasa, reader, news, and blogger and youtube integrated to the mobile experience. Data is transferred and sync over-the-air forget about phones and computers being tied down by cables, with android you are free.
If you are serious about mobile computing, then android is for you. Don't let big brother decide what you need or don't need. You want flash? you got it! and it works perfectly!. Do you need to find your way? you go it! Google maps, Google navigation and Google my tracks; do you need to find your way in the sky? you got it! Google Sky Map!.
These are my favorite apps running in my HTC EVO:
1. Pocket informant
2. Tweetdeck
3. Gmail
4. Google voice

7. Blogaway

Im Westen nichts Neues
Leandro latest project for history class "All quiet in the Western Front". I read Remarque's book when I was a boy of 9 or ten, later I watched the movie on TV. It left a lasting impression on the horrors of war. Leandro read the book and decided to make a miniature depiction of the novel. He was also impressed with the book!

More Warhammer 40K
Our first Warhammer 40K game at home
Leandro and I play our first game of Warhammer 40K today. It was difficult and of course my son beat me like he always does. These are the pictures that I took during the game. The game lasted more than four hours but we were also watching Jurassic Park III at the same time. Enjoy the pictures.

Using swype. The new keyboard for my Evo
I am trying a new keyboard called Swype. It is very intuitive to use. The learning curve though difficult at the beginning gets very easy fast. The trick is to slide your index finger over the keyboard. I have been using it for ten minutes and is becoming my favorite input method. If you have a touch screen device try it, you are going to love it!

Caleto is visiting
This week Mr. Caleto came to visit from Houston. He drove the entire day and made it into Knoxville by 10.30pm. Next day, we were able to watch the World Cup. We were especially interested to see the Argentina-Nigeria match. Argentina won by one goal; however, the final score did not reflect what had happened during the match. Argentina was superior and the score should have ended by at least a three point difference in favor of Argentina. The argentinians are looking like favorites to be in the final four of the tournament.
Caleto will stay few more days to enjoy soccer before heading back to Venezuela with a stop in Houston.

Playing Warhammer 40K
Leandro and I are spending this evening playing a strategy game called Warhammer 40K. It is nothing like the games I used to play when I was a kid. This game which it is impossible to understand for a first timer like me; requires a great deal of reading, imagination, patience and funds too. it is indeed very interesting to see how the dice does not have the same known function that it did when we played board games. In this game you measure by inches and you move according piece worth and what you get in the dice too. More about the game later; when I understand what's going on!

Getting ready for Lost and the summer!
Tomorrow the Lost last episode will be aired on TV. There are millinos of people who will be watching how the Hurley, Sawyer, Kate and Jack will end up. I am one of them; I started to wacth Lost only two months ago; which made me one of the lucky one; I didn't have to wait years to see how the Lost adventure was going to end. By the same token, the official summer break has strated for my kids. It means a lot of swimming and other outside activities. Leandro and I have planned to practice a lot of baseball to get him ready for middle school. Isabella wants me to go to the pool every day. Though I will be working, I trust my ability to perform and fulfill my kid's expectations. So Lost is over and summer is here, what a great timing: less time sitting down and more time outside.
My kids will appreciate time spent with their parents; and we will appreciate them forcing us to move farther, harder and faster. The king has died; long lived the King!

Lost
I have to thank my friend James "Jimmy the boy" for hooking me and Susana with Lost. I remember hearing about the show few years ago; however, we never watched it; why? I really don't know. We never put much attention to what is going on TV. So finally, five years later, Jimmy got the best of us and the magic of the show did the rest.
What took millions of people six years, has taken us around two months; we are almost there: we are currently watching season five. We have sumerged ourselves in the magical world of Lost.
Our imagination revolves around numbers, Jacob, Ben, Sawyer, John, us and the others. I guess Lost is a parody of life, of our life, of your life and the life of the others.
To live is just as fantastic as it is the polivalent world of Lost. We are navigating a process which purpose becomes the road to cover. It appears that the goal of the life is life itself. Sometimes I wonder about the millions and millions of people who have already done the trip and have been forgotten in the anonimity of history.
We too will forget Lost until the next time we meet Jimmy Boy, who without hesitation will hook us with another virtual adventure until we become Lost!

Cheerleading
Today the whole family went to the Knoxville cheerleading compettion. It was great to see those girls and boys united under one roof dancing with highly sync moves. Susana and I agreed that cheerleading is a unique American sport. We were impressed by the stern actitude of all involved in the event; which started with the US National anthem.
The competition lasted around 4 hours with groups from the greater Knoxville and other close-by cities.
Isabella's team did so well that it has been invited to participate in the state of Tennessee championship this coming saturday at Nashville. The competition will be hard; teams from all over the state will be competing there. I truly hope that our team does well.
In any case whatever happens, it has been a great learning experience for the whole family.
See you in Nashville,
